About Polarion ALM: is used in Systems Engineering practices for authoring & publication of Design Engineering Practises (DEP). For example: creating, maintain design engineering drawing / speficiation in a workflow that involves creation, review, capturing review input and likewise until publication.

This role supports Asset-Handover portfolio supporting Capital Projects and Assets as a Polarian Configuration & Administration. This role will do the configuration & administration of Siemens Polarian tool within Shell as this Polarion Unified Platform enables organizations to streamline, automate, and optimize development processes across multiple projects and lifecycles in Capital Projects & Assets. The vision for these efforts is to provide a sustainable Polarion platform for Capital Projects from Shell Upstream, Downstream and Project & Technology. This role require working closely with several key stakeholders in the business & business IT.

The Software Engineer is responsible for the delivery of software, which may include new development, configuration and installation of third party packages, and software integration efforts as well as reporting. It may include tasks from every part of the software development lifecycle, including software and website design, development, programming, and software deployment (both the installation and decommissioning of software).

Role

  • Working on Siemens Polarion ALM as configurator / Administrator.
  • Working as an Ops engineer to fix bugs.
  • Working as a Dev engineer to deliver solutions for enhancements to be delivered in a sprint.
  • Engage with business users and end users for gathering requirements, solutioning and as well as deployments.
  • Keep technical expertise up to date.
  • Also willing to learn relavent technologies like Java, Java Script, Velocity, SQL queries as these skills help individuals to perform their role more efficiently.

Dimensions and Special Challenges

  • Build strong working relationship with Product Line Managers (PLMs), Project Manager & Business Users.
  • Ability to learn domain skills expected in Capital Projects.
  • Virtual working in a global environment with culturally diverse teams and across many organizational boundaries (within and across IT support and delivery organizations, incl. suppliers as well as Capital Project vendors) like a distributed agile team.
  • Managing multiple delivery priorities, multiple demand requests and complex (integration) issues
  • High degree of application, technology and SaaS landscape complexity and integration
  • Working as one team with business support teams to ensure seamless development and deployments of changes and maximum added value for the business by proposing continuous improvements in line with the business needs and strategy

Mandatory Qualifications

  • Typical Years of Experience: 4 to 7 years of corporate IT experience
  • Minimum 4 years of Hands on Polarian configurator/Administrator work experience
  • Minimum Education or Certification: 4-year Degree related to IT
